Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 September 2026
This policy explains what Know Myself collects, why, who else touches it, and how to have it deleted. The short version: your quiz answers stay in your browser unless you buy a report or send someone a couples link, we set no cookies, and we do not sell or advertise with anything.
1. Who is responsible
Know Myself (knowmyself.co) is the controller of the personal data described here. For anything to do with your data, write to hello@knowmyself.co.
2. What we collect, and why
- Quiz answers. Your answers are scored inside your browser and saved in your browser's local storage so your result is still there when you come back. They are not sent to us unless you buy a report. For the couples quiz, your answers are encoded into the link you choose to share, so anyone who has that link can see the match map built from them.
- Purchases. When you buy a report, your answers, the quiz and language, and Creem's order reference are sent to our server to generate the report and are stored so you can reopen it. Your payment details, email address and billing country are collected by Creem (Armitage Labs OÜ, Estonia), our payment provider and merchant of record, which acts as an independent controller for checkout, invoicing and tax data under Creem's privacy notice. Creem passes us your email address and order reference so we can send you the report link.
- Report generation. To write your report, your answers and scores (never your name or email) are sent to Anthropic's API. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, that content is not used to train its models.
- Email. If you leave your address on the site, or enter one at checkout, we use it to send you your report link or the message you asked for. Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link.
- Anonymous usage events. We record milestone events such as quiz started, quiz finished, result type and checkout opened, together with the country your request came from. They contain no identifier that points back to you.
- Technical logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and browser information to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
- Fonts. Pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser requests those files from Google's servers and Google receives your IP address in the process. Google's privacy policy governs that request.
3. Legal bases
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process your data to perform our contract with you (showing your result, generating and delivering your report), with your consent (emails you have signed up for), and for our legitimate interests (keeping the site secure and understanding, in aggregate, how the quizzes are used).
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or share anyone's individual result. The following services process data on our behalf or as independent providers: Cloudflare (hosting and storage), Creem (payments, as merchant of record), Anthropic (report generation), Resend (sending transactional email) and Google Fonts (typefaces). Some of them are located in the United States or elsewhere outside your country; where the law requires it, transfers are covered by standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
5. How long we keep things
- Answers in your browser's local storage: until you clear them or retake the quiz.
- Purchased reports and the answers behind them: at least twelve months after purchase, after which they may be deleted. Save your PDF if you want to keep it longer.
- Order records received from Creem: as long as needed for accounting and to handle refunds and disputes.
- Email addresses: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Anonymous usage events: indefinitely, in aggregate form.
6. Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, receive a copy, restrict or object to its processing, and withdraw any consent you have given. Email hello@knowmyself.co; we answer within 30 days and may ask you to confirm the email address or order reference so we do not hand your data to someone else. If you live in the EU or UK you can also complain to your data protection authority. If you live in California, you have the rights to know and to delete described here, and we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law.
7. Children
The site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16, and you must be 18 or older to buy a report. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
8. Cookies
We set no cookies and use no third-party analytics or advertising scripts. Your answers live in your browser's local storage, which stays on your device.
9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, reports are stored with restricted access, and we never hold card details. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting you, we will tell you.
10. Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be announced on the site.
